How do I place a hold on an item?

Answer

When looking at the full record of an item in the Primo, if the item is checked out you will see a "Not Available" or "Out of Library" message.  Make sure you are signed in to Primo.  Under the "Get It" section of the record, click on "Place a Hold." You will need to provide your preferred pickup location and a date when you no longer need the item before sending your request.

You may also place a hold by contacting your campus library's Circulation Desk.

Please note:

  • Hold requests are filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • An item will be held for a maximum of one week before being returned to the shelf.
  • Patrons may have holds placed on up to three items at any one time.
  • You can monitor your holds by signing in to Primo and checking "My Requests".
