Start in the Library Databases (from the Library Homepage click on Databases by Title or Databases by Subject under SEARCH COLLECTIONS.)  Here is a suggestion to get you started:

Opposing Viewpoints in Context - Click on "Browse Issues" on the grey menu bar, then scroll down the list of issues to find one that relates to your topic, for instance, "Gun Control", "Guns and Violence" or "Concealed Weapons." Select a topic to display a page with all kinds of sources - pro and con argument essays, newspaper and magazine articles, statistics, reference articles and media.

Remember, you will need your student ID and password to access databases when you are off-campus.

The JCC Libraries also subscribe to many journals and magazines in print.  You can find 12 months of issues in the Current Periodicals shelves in the library.  For journals and magazines older that one year, look in the Back Periodicals shelves.

Click on the "Gun Control" link below to open a Libguide containing additional sources and suggestions.  The "Introduction to Research" Libguide (link below) will help you to focus your topic and contains tips on searching the databases for articles.

Good luck with your paper, and please contact us if you need further help!
